Celebrating their 11-year anniversary, Ghost Town Blues Band—led by front man and native Memphian Matt Isbell - has an amazing story to tell, from headlining the Montreal Jazz Festival Blues Stage in Canada and the Grolsch Blues Festival in Germany to performing at B.B. King’s funeral and celebration of life. Although the band is known for their “must see” live shows (as captured on their #4 Billboard Blues Charts live album Backstage Pass), GTBB proves with their 5th release Shine that the band can also deliver an energetic and soul-filled studio album steeped in well-crafted writing, memorable melodies, and exciting, original roots music.

Matt Isbell’s gravel-soaked vocals, homemade cigar box guitars, and band of merry misfits have earned Ghost Town the Tennessee Music Award, 2nd place at the International Blues Challenge, 3rd place at the International Songwriting Competition, nominations at the Maple Blues Awards (Canada) for the B.B. King International Entertainer of the Year, Indie Music Awards, Blues Blast Music Awards, and Independent Blues Awards. They’ve appeared on NPR’s internationally syndicated radio shows “Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour” and “Beale Street Caravan.”

Ghost Town recently taped a live performance for the PBS television show “Sun Studio Sessions” and have been featured on the cover of magazines such as Blues Blast Magazine, West Texas Blues and CBG Review (UK). GTBB has been direct support act for artists such as Steve Miller Band, Keb Mo, Johnny Lang, Chris Robinson’s Brotherhood, Robert Randolph, John Lee Hooker Jr., Booker T. Jones, Charles Bradley, Better Than Ezra, Bobby Rush, Doyle Bramhall II, Sugar Ray, John Mayall, Junior Brown, Fantastic Negrito and more. Ghost Town Blues Band defies the prescription for the blues that most other bands on the scene seem to be rehashing.

"With a shoot-from-the-hip Memphis attitude, and a STAX-busting explosion of modern blues vision, GTBB represents a welcome changing of the guard."  -Living Blues Magazine

“Steeped in history with an eye towards the future, the Ghost Town Blues Band represents the best aspects of both.”
